Before

At just 30 years old, I was so ill all the time that I took nearly 30 pills a day. I weighed 19 stone (120kg) and had high blood pressure, heart failure and asthma. When I was pregnant, I also suffered from gestational diabetes and preeclampsia.

The doctors told me I was very close to death. The fear of not being able to see my children grow up was so terrible that I had to make some serious choices. Should I choose food or my life? I chose life and have never regretted making that decision.

A friend of mine suggested that I find out more about Cambridge Weight Plan and I got in contact with the local Consultants. After just one month of being on the Plan, my high blood pressure and asthma had disappeared. Even when I was struggling and it was a real challenge, I didn’t give up because I was determined to lose the excess weight.

Having lost 9st (55kg) I did have a lot of loose skin on my thighs and stomach, but I decided to undergo surgery which, despite being complicated, was worthwhile. I can now play with my children again and my life is so much easier.

When I look back, I can’t understand how I let it go so far â?? it was like I’d been carrying a bag weighing 9st everywhere I went. Now that the weight is gone I feel so free, almost like I’m a teenager again.

I was lucky enough to win the prize for Lifestyle Woman, run by Cambridge Weight Plan in Sweden â?? I am so proud of myself. I am much happier and look forward to living a healthy life, watching my children grow up.
